Our Friend David!

Recently our friend David came in to town for S.C. We wer so excited to see him! We spent one evening at the Rellik with him and Sunday morning breakfast at First Street Cafe with him too! It was so nice to cathc up with an old friend and to be reminded of all the things you miss so much about them! We all had some great laughs, shared some fabulous pictures, and just had an overall nice time catching up. It turns out that David is trying to make his way back to us! We can't wait for his return to California, more good times and great memories ahead!!!!!

Put on your dorkiest face so I can take a nice picture!

Final Farwell

Last Thursday Dad, Davina and Katie picked me up from work for the drive to the airport where we dropped off katie, kicked her to the curb and said good luck in England! ....Well that is not exactly how it went down, but close? Not really. I dared Katie to try to handle all her bags on the walk in to the airport- 2 rolling duffle bags, a back pack and a sholder bag.... let's just say I didn't follow up on that dare, and when she got to the London Airport where she really did have to lugg all her bags she wasn't a happy camper....at least she wasn't thinking about it all the way there! Anyway we a really nice farewell free of tears and full of excitement, at least on my part! I wish I could have traded places with her at that minute and I think she wished the same thing! hahaha! Here as our "photo session" from that last hour together in the states- now she is a regular English girl, flat and all!

Fashion Show

Two days before we said our final goodbyes (check tomorrow for the final goodbye) to Katie, we headed once again back down to The Rellik Tavern for a good ol' fashion show. One of the women's clothing stores in town sponsored the clothing, while Bombshell Hair and Tattoo did the hair and some of the make up. It was a fun little fashion show staring our favorite, Davina! The other girl in the picture is a coworker of Davina's, Courtney, who looked stunning, so I JUST had to take a photo. HOW FUN! Jos and I were even asked if we wanted to walk in it next month, I thought it would be fun, but I think Jos thought otherwise! We will see!

Family Breakfast

To revist the end of the last post, the day after Katie's going away party at The Rellik we got up early to go to breakfast with my Dad's brother and his lovely bride (almost 20 years of marriage!!!). We went to our favorite breakfast spot in town, First Street Cafe who have the best waffles, scramblers and scones ever! Every time we go Aaron and I share our breakfast, he orders the special and I order a waffle, it's the perfect combo (of course with a scone!).
After breakfast we went down to the water to take some pictures, and like I said before, there is nothing like the back drop of water for great family photos. Enjoy these!

Family, Fun and Bitter Sweet Goodbye's.

What a whirwind of a weekend we have had.
Friday night we were over at the Taylor's for dinner and Rummicube, which is quickly becoming our go to game. Little Emma was so bubbly and was loving bouncing up and down in our arms. Her chubby little legs are getting so strong I think she will be crawling in no time. She is such a delight, happy and never a tear! ANNDDD she goes right to sleep when they lay her down! WHATT!!!
Saturday Aaron and I lazed a little in the morning watching a gret thunderstorm blow threw, with lightning and all. That's probably one of my favorite things to do. After that I ran up costco and target to get prepartions for Katie's going away party that we had at The Rellik Tavern in town. We had such a nice turn out. Pretty much everyone was able to come including our family from So. Cal. I think Katie was really pleased.
After the party we went home and had some hamburgers and hotdogs with the fam and a couple of Katie's best friends. I think the ending to the night was bitter sweet for her, saying goodbye to her friends for a year. It sounds like everyone wants to use her as an excuse though to get across the "pond"! So that will be nice for her to think about and await their/our arrival.
Today is Sunday and we had breakfast with our Aunt, Uncle and Dad. It was so nice to eat an intimate meal with them. We took some great pictures on the waterfront before we all said goodbye. There is nothing like having the water as your back drop.
We are off to frisbee in an hour or so and then I hear rummors of another barbque tonight!

Day 4- Tennis, Swim, Veg....

...AND WHITE SANDS!!!!!!!!

As stated in the title, we did the regular this Sunday Morning- actually we even watched some of the Sunday Morning Program which is celebrating 30 years on air.

The day was pretty chill until we headed out to White Sands National Park to do some sand sledding!

The whole evening was sooooo awesome! We packed up an Italian lunch of bread from Zeffiro's in town, and procuito(sp?), salami and lots of cheese...oh yeah and Smoking Loon wine too! The dunes look like snow in the winter, and the sand is finer than any other sand that I have experienced. Aaron said it was like walking on velvet. We hiked out a little ways and found a killer dune with a great incline and blazed a trail down it. The more you use the same trail, the faster you go. Not to mention the friends of my mom's that loaned us the sleds waxed them up before we left- so they were super slick! Some other people followed after us, and used our trail so it kept getting faster. The Scenery was spectacular too. This post will have ALL White Sands picutres since it was the highlight of our day and freakin awesome!

Las Cruces Day Three- Saturday

Saturday was another great day. Getting up is getting harder, especially with the thought of work on the horizon...but I trying not to think about that quite yet!

Today, of course, started with tennis. We are averaging about 2-3 hours of tennis per morning. This morning Aaron signed up for a lesson with the club pro to work on his serve, which proved very helpful! Getting a new serve in tennis is always a difficult taks. It's new moves throws you off, but once you get in the groove of the motion things start to even out and your serve really starts to come along. Aaron is on the new end of the serve, but each time he serves you can see the progession into an awesome swing starting to shine through.

The day also took us on some more errands, and a great stop for lunch at Sonic! Yum Cherry Slush!!!!!!!! I am still drinking it as I am sitting here writing this- YUMMMMM and no freezing headache yet!!!!!

I had to share this great video with you of Katie, unbeknowenst to her, rocking out on film to knock three times. I hope you get a good laugh out of this as we all did, watching her.... It's all in good fun kate! hahahah!

Las Cruces Day Two

Well lets just say Friday was a much better day than a slighty chaotic Wednesday and Thursday.

We Played some more tennis, as per usual and ran some errands to the mall and target, etc, etc, etc.

In the evening we dined at this AWESOME local pizza place- gourmet like pizza- that makes thier own bread and everything- think Boudin's meets CPK. It's called Zeffiro's and I can't stress to you how absolutely fantastic the food was and the bread and the desert and the staff! Super YUM!

Mom bought us all tickets to see a play at one of the community theatre, called Look Homeward Angel...and we did, at intermission....the spa was much more tempting than the less than mediocre acting we were painfully sitting through! I always feel bad about leaving a preformance early, especially at a small venue where your presence or lack thereof is clearly apparent....but we just couldn't take it any more!!!!!!

Anyway, another great day full of great memories!
